The YouTube version of the blog is here

Well Hi

I came across an outside wall in the yard that was in quite a state. Mostly because it's old and has been through years of varying environmental conditions.

A simple tapping of the wall at different locations made interestingly different sounds.  The sounds give insight on how it is beneath the surface. Well; that's if one is careful enough to just pay attention and find out.

Interesting.

Well.  Even a section on the floor had an open patch or two; but simple uprooting of some greens revealed small but important details.

These are the elements of the cast mixture used many years ago; to form the floor.  Some pebbles. Some sand. Surely cement.  Great information from the broken down state of the wall structure (meant surface). After years of it being used as per intent.

From what I could see here and understand, by just observing, I went on to look for what I had available to me. You know? Tools. Information and other resources. To see what can be done to improve, you know, the state of the structure (meaning surface).  To restore it somewhat.

A little cement, sand, water and a few other things, I guess, can actually do some good.

When we see brokenness, some of us are moved while others are not. This has elements of the bible story of The Good Samaritan.

Go and read it in Luke chapter 10 verses 25 to 37.

I say elements as the two situations are not exactly the same. The Good Samaritan is basically the story of a man who was hurt and laying on the side of the road.

Some people just walked by, but one man was moved into doing what he could to tend to the man's hurt. He cared for him and took him to a more comfortable place.

The Good Samaritan made provision to enable the hurt man to heal  some more but in a better environment.

In this situation? Well; the little wall is seen daily by a number of people.  However, not all think the same about how it is. The broken down sections were a good nudge to starting a healing task, which can lead to an upgrade project.

Anyway, so I started with -you know-  the

resources that were available to me and around me.  Collected some information. Talked to a few people. Got some tools and other things to do the task.

From seeing that something is not as it should be. Approaching it. Assessing it. Caring enough and being willing to see it being better. An inclination towards just doing good. A small step, but it was enough to  get the wall to a slightly better state than it was.

In time it will be complete.  With just a few more resources and stuff like that.

The restoration plus interest will be complete. Kinda like the man in the Luke chapter 10 story.

If this can be done for a small wall and floor patches; in just a few days; from just simply caring enough to look? Then how much more with God on us and our lives?

God is the one who does exceedingly, abundantly, above and beyond what we could ask or think.
