Today, I posted the below poster for the #YiZwakala Le campaign that AYO Chats has launched this December.
Forgiveness and repentance are important human practices. They indicate maturity, empathy and humility. All being virtuous.
This December, we saw it befitting to launch a campaign promoting the above values in the home, community and humanity overall. The next couple of days, we will be posting much encouragement on our platforms.
Healthy and wholesome relationships are still possible. Even in 2020. Even in the face of an apparent technology era.
Technology is not the enemy but a tool. A tool usable for the instilling of the very same values it seems to be threatening.
Fellowship. Conversations. Embracing.
I have experienced this exercise. A few times. And it is not easy but necessary and doable.
It helps to release speculation, condemnation and falsehood if any. It also eliminates all cover ups of the real issues. Very important for healing and progress.
Many times, we bury or ignore past transgressions. We keep moving as if they never happened.
God is gracious to forgive and bless you with so much more. His mercies are new every morning.
However, it is good practice to approach another with the intention to apologize.
The Bible encourages living in peace, forgiveness and repentance.
Why not try this today? Pray about it first.
Lord, reveal to me who I need to ask forgiveness from for a passed transgression. Make me courageous Holy Spirit to approach them and be sincere. Go ahead and make their spirit receptive to this intent of peace and love. I believe Your word Lord when you say the truth shall set us free. It is time for past bondages to be loosed Lord. In Jesus' Name. Amen
It helps to pray beforehand as this process is sensitive. Others may fight the process at first but both parties need it to happen.
Where the other person is prideful and vindictive, Holy Spirit will lead you in all humility to best offer your white flag.
Being of a peaceful nature does not mean you must be subject to further attempts at keeping you oppressed, bonded or condemned.
It is written:
Avoid foolish disputes, genealogies, contentions, and strivings about the law; for they are unprofitable and useless. Reject a divisive man after first and second admonition, knowing that such a person is warped and sinning, being self condemned.
Some have settled happily in perpetual hatred, it has become a tradition. A thorny baton handed from generation to generation.
Do your part in all sincerity. Your efforts are never in vain to an all seeing God. A blessed assurance.
Don't be like those before you who chose to leave Crucial Conversations undone. Ignored. Under the carpet. Buried in their souls with heaps and heaps of other iniquities.
It Stops Here. New starts are possible. God specialises in Newness. Every single day.
Whether it's hate, unforgiveness, bitterness, self entitlement, pride. Whatever name it goes by, it started with a lie. A misconception. A misunderstanding. In any form, it started as and remains a lie. Simply untrue.
