Old Year’s Eve Celebration at Fisherman’s

Fisherman's Village 'Gods Spot - Randburg

Thursday, January 10, 2019

Firstly, Happy New Year to all and I trust that everyone had a wonderful

crossing over from the old year to the new one.

So, the celebration of the 2018 to 2019 cross over, saw us experiencing

the Old Year's Celebration at the Fisherman's Village Ministry.

The evening began with a warm welcome by our host, Pastor Linda

Patterson and followed by an awesome buffet meal from our bring & share

table. We were served a diverse meal, reflective of the wonderful cultural

mix of the crowd. In true 'bring and share' fashion, there was plenty

brought and to go around among all families and friends. Basically, it was

everything from mouth watering chicken biryani to healthy veggie

platters. The kiddies also enjoyed a creamy Mac and Cheese. Yummy! As

for the dessert, I gathered that many had sweet-tooth syndrome, judging

from the chocolate-smeared empty dessert dishes.

After dinner, we all made our way to the hall for the late evening program.

The program was directed by one of our facilitators, Derick, who made us

laugh, and introduced every item and act uniquely with the most natural

flair in his audience engagement. His sense of humor led no one to no

monotonous slumber...

The word says: "Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit; and

there are varieties of service, but the same Lord; and there are varieties of

activities, but it is the same God who empowers them all in everyone. To

each is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good" (1 Cor

12: 4-11).
